Role Overview & Responsibilities

Applications are invited for a research assistant in the lab of Dr. Courtney Hanna and based at the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will join a Wellcome Trust/Royal Society-funded project investigating the mechanisms of epigenetic programming during early placental development and the importance of these epigenetic marks in placental function throughout pregnancy. We are an inclusive and welcoming group, committed to supporting the career development of all members.

In this position, you will perform molecular assays, trophoblast stem cell culture, and histological experiments. In addition to supporting ongoing projects in the lab, you will contribute to the study of a role for bivalency in placental development. Candidates should have excellent organisational, collaboration and communication skills. Experience in molecular techniques and cell culture, and knowledge of developmental epigenetics are preferable for this position. Applicants must hold a university degree in a relevant subject.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
