Role Overview & Responsibilities

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-renowned research group with an international reputation in translational research. The post is to work as a clinical research fellow with Prof Pratik Choudhary on an international collaborative project funded by the National Institute Health (NIH) looking at the factors associated with restoration of hypoglycaemia awareness in people with type one diabetes using hybrid closed loop system. This is a multicentre study with sites in the US, UK and Australia that will be the largest study of people with impaired awareness of hypoglycaemia ever, with a number of outcomes that you will be able to be involved with and lead on. The NIH is a medical research agency which is part of the U.S department of Health and Human services.

About you

This post is most suited to a specialist trainee (ST3 or above) in Diabetes and Endocrinology. You must be a registered medical practitioner holding a licence to practice in the UK, possessing MRCP or equivalent. While some experience of research or clinical training in type 1 diabetes is desirable, this is not essential and we are looking for enthusiasm, passion and a critical approach to your work. All research and clinical training required for the position will be provided.
