VEED.IO is an online video editing platform with a simple mission: enabling anyone to create professional-looking videos. For too long, video creation has been inaccessible to so many people — you’ve had to download & learn complicated software, and buy expensive equipment. What if you could create a video in five minutes, right from your browser? That’s what we’re building here at VEED.
We're already used by millions of creators around the world — from kids & grandparents, to ambitious YouTubers, to companies like Amazon & Google — all using our products to tell stories, create content & grow their audience.
Since we started VEED four years ago, we’ve grown faster than we could have ever imagined. We’ve gone from one user to millions. From no revenue to over $10M ARR. From bootstrapped to backed by Sequoia, one of the biggest VC firms in the world. From a team of two to a team of 150+. And we’re still growing — we’d love for you to be a part of our journey.
About the team
VEED is thriving with our month-over-month growth on track to become a unicorn. While there are many things our success can be attributed to, content has been a key player since day one. This is not a job where people don’t get content and breathe down your neck with every post you make.
But also this is not a set-it-and-forget-it type of content job.
While we’ve come a long way from being a 7-person team, there are still areas that need developing and therefore work like a startup within a startup. Social media is one of those.
We don’t want or expect you to be a one-person team for the entire time you’re here. But in order to get the social media dream team on board, we need to start somewhere before scaling. You’re not scared of being scrappy as the first social strategist at VEED and you know how to align your focus to create the most impact with the resources available to you before tacking on another channel, another responsibility, or another trend.
What you will do
- Develop and execute on our social media strategy on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
- Define and measure social KPIs such as link in bio CTR, engagement rate, share of voice, and non revenue conversions such as email signups.
- Develop social media processes and best practices for VEED such as workflows for how social content is ideated, researched, and created or pointers for how to maximize engagement on a particular social channel.
- Driving more traffic to VEED web resources through social channels
- Executing our content repurposing and distribution plans to get the most mileage out of our content through social channels
- Reporting on performance and insights that could feed into our content’s success and potentially feed into developing “bigger” pieces of content such as blogs, video playlists on YouTube, digital resources, and more.
- Identifying high potential influencers/partners from our social channels and mentions - and surfacing to our influencer marketing lead.
- Collaborating with Influencer Marketing Lead to showcase influencer content on our social channels.
- Hire and train other teammates and freelancers
About you
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Facebook. We also have a YouTube team with dedicated video content creators who you could collaborate with.
- Strong understanding of video marketing and creation. You will not have to be on camera (unless you want to), but we are a video tool so we expect you to understand video well so you can talk about it.
- You’re equal parts creative and analytical with a knack for understanding how social media can drive engagement that translates into business and brand value. You’ve done it before and can do it again.
- You’re able to be candid as you set goals, and expectations, and collaborate with your team and other departments.
- You’re comfortable with the ambiguity that comes with working in a setting where there’s still a lot to be defined. In fact, you love the fact you get to be the one to develop processes that create clarity where there was once none.
- You are comfortable working autonomously, taking the initiative, managing multiple projects, and working to find creative solutions in a multidisciplinary team. The social media function is new at VEED. While you will certainly not be a one-person show, you will need to be someone who knows how to make the most of the resources available to them.
