Job Title: Junior Software Engineer
Accountable to: Information Systems Manager
Base Location: Burnley Head Office
Main Responsibilities
Provide assistance for front and back-end programming and support the continued development of the bespoke inhouse software and integration with third party software. Duties will primarily revolve around developing and building new software, modifying existing software to improve performance and fix errors.
Key Tasks
Ø Assisting in all aspects of software design and coding.
Ø Develop front end architecture and user interactions.
Ø Knowledge of databases and back-end database functionality.
Ø Writing and testing code, debugging programs and integrating applications with third-party web services.
Ø Assist in the gathering and documenting requirements of business users and customers.
Ø Writing reports.
Ø Conducting development tests.
Ø Coordinate with internal and external teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Ø Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.
Ø Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ø Knowledge of front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Ø Familiarity with database technology and back-end development.
Ø Basic experience in server-side languages such as Python, PHP.
Ø Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
Ø Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ø Good problem-solving skills.
Ø Attention to detail.
Ø Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
