Role Overview & Responsibilities

Location: Stevenage (Customer Site)

This role will see you working as part of a Vodafone Network Engineering Team that is employed on one of our customer sites in either Stevenage or Bristol.

What you'll be doing:


  • Operating with a complex technical environment, resolving Incidents, fulfilling Service Requests and implementing Changes relating to a range of technologies including:
    • Cisco Managed LAN and WLAN.
    • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
    • Checkpoint Firewalls
    • F5 Load Balancers.
    • Aruba Wifi.
    • Videoconferencing hardware.
  • Maintenance and management of DNS.
  • Network monitoring and implementation of any identified corrective actions required.
  • Maintain and create technical documentation.
  • Opportunity exists for exposure to security technologies (firewalls and proxies) and IP telephony, although this is not part of the primary role.
  • Building a productive working relationship with relevant customer stakeholders, and technical peers from the customer’s other suppliers.

Apply if you have:


  • Cisco CCNA certification and/or demonstrable experience – essential.
  • Good knowledge of Cisco LAN and Wireless LAN technologies, including switching and IP addressing best practice.
  • Experience of administrating and maintaining a CUCM.
  • Cisco DNA Center (Digital Network Architecture) knowledge – desirable.
  • Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) knowledge – desirable.
  • Cisco Nexus – desirable.
  • Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP & IP Address Management)
  • Experience of high security operating environments – SC Security clearance is essential for this role and you must be willing to undertake DV clearance if required.
  • Initiative, decisiveness and self-motivation.
  • Self-motivating individual with the ability to develop strong customer relationships as well as functioning in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal negotiating and communication skills.
  • Commitment to meeting customers’ expectations.
