Warehouse Operative - Wigan
Winstanley’s Pramworld are the UK’s number 1 independent nursery retailer based in Wigan. Our busy family business is looking to recruit an additional Warehouse Operative to join our warehouse team!
The role can be physically demanding as large items will need to be picked and packed by hand.
It is not essential that you have previous experience working in a warehouse, as full training will be provided; however, previous roles that show organisational and problem-solving skills, as well as keen eye for detail are desired.
As a Warehouse Operative your duties will include general warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, loading and unloading, cleaning and when necessary, driving the works vehicle (a clean full driving license is required to drive the company vehicles).
Responsibilities:
Our warehouse team services our online business, as well as the Stoke and Wigan stores. You will be assisting in the overall dispatch of customers’ orders, delivering of stock to stores and supporting the general running of the warehouse.
Usual day:
- Paper picking and packing orders
- Loading goods for dispatch
- Delivering goods to stores and customers
- Taking delivery of good and supplies
- Checking for damaged or missing items
- Storing goods
- Manual lifting of stock
- Driving the works van (subject to license check)
- Cleaning work areas
Working hours:
- Average 37.5 hours per week - On a rota'd basis - Between 8am – 5pm
- Permanent position (Subject to a successful 6-month probationary training period)
- Bank Holidays Required – As a retail business we are open for our customers
- Weekend shifts (Currently every other Saturday)
- Seasonal/Promotional cover Required
