Role Overview & Responsibilities

This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week. However, working hours and days can be flexible.

York Minster Fund are seeking to appoint a Head of Fundraising.

Reporting to the Director of York Minster Fund, this exciting new role will lead the team delivering fundraising across the Minster activities but with a focus both on the ongoing projects of restoration as well as the exciting new developments brought about by York Minsters neighbourhood plan.

Introduction to York Minster Fund

York Minster Fund, established in 1967 to support an urgent restoration project, is an independent organisation who lead on fundraising for York Minster.

Whilst the key focus of the Fund is on restoration and conservation of the fabric of the building, the Fund also supports the development of the skills needed to carry this out through an extensive apprenticeship program. The Fund is also responsible for supporting and coordinating other fundraising activities across the organisation in areas as diverse as music to the museum, Liturgy to the Library.

York Minster Fund is a cornerstone of the Cathedrals finances with the main focus at present being the restoration of the St Cuthbert’s window and transept, the continuing programme of protection for the Medieval windows and the exciting development of The Minsters Centre of Excellence for heritage skills and estate management.
